Heading Country Cross-country race

Discipline which have its time of glory during all the decade of the Nineties, tends today to grow blurred with the profit of the emancipation of the discipline "headlight" of the moment, the enduro (see heading ENDURO). The cross-country race is a practice of the VTT which requires a perfect physical condition. Indeed, the cross-country race consists in rolling on more or less stony tracks (generally rather travelling), with uneven variable, combining assembled and descents on approximately 50km minimum.

The endurance is thus the principal weapon of the discipline. This practice requires a material more "light" and the most rigid possible. The manufacture of these VTT uses technologies resulting from the increasingly powerful search for alloy (titanium, carbon, aluminium easton, scandium...), to lead to true jewels being able to go (as regards price) until 8000euros!!!

However, of the completely suitable VTT as regards performances are in sales in the surrounding of the 1000euros. This discipline requires a rigour and a constant drive (minimum an exit per week) to keep a correct level, i.e. sufficiently high to appreciate the discipline fully.

Very holy for the organization, the cross-country race is a sport directly resulting from the competition, which can consequently prove, in the event of "overtraining" or of too intensive use of the organization, very dangerous for the heart. Thus, starting from a certain level (100km by exit) it will be preferable to invest in a cardio frequency meter to constantly follow the cardiac evolution of its organization.

This discipline can appear sometimes élitiste, with the eyes of some "bikers" followers of adrenalin above all, but it remains in my eyes a splendid practice combining perseverance, courage and sportivity for the pilot; and high-tech for the equipment. Here are in a few words, the description which VELOVTT of the cross-country race proposes to you.
